Description
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, a credit card company is jointly and severally liable for any breach of contract or misrepresentation by a retailer or trader if a purchase is made using their credit card.
This means it is equally responsible with the retailer when things go wrong.
You can make a claim to both the retailer and credit card provider at the same time.
A common problem is that you will purchase tickets online for a concert or show. The tickets will be paid for using your credit card, but they will not be delivered. You attempt to contact the retailer, but they fail to help. This is a template letter what you would send to the credit card company in these circumstances.
